In this article, you will find an overview of explanations of terminologies and abbreviations used within our services.

Bid & Ask Bid is the most recent price offered for buying 1 MW of that product. 
Ask is the most recent price offered for selling 1 MW of that product.
Change (Chg) Difference between the previous closing/settlement price and the latest trade today. Only available if values for both "Pstl" and "Last" exist.
MACD Moving Average Convergence Divergence. Shows the relationship between two moving averages of an asset's price.
Open Interest The number of derivatives contracts that have been opened (i.e. not yet settled) for a specific product.
Previous Close (PClose) Is the price of the last transaction from the previous trading day. PClose is used in relation to data published by brokers.
Previous Settlement (PStl) The settlement from the previous trading day. 
Relative Strength Index (RSI) RSI shows the strength of a trend and the probability of it changing.
Settlement (Stl) An end-of-day calculation of the closing value of a specific contract for that trading day.
Source The exchange, broker, company, or institution that is the source of the data.
SourceId A unique ID representing a source.
Volume Accumulated (VA) The combined volume (MW) of all trades so far that day 
Volume Last (VL) The volume (MW) of the previous trade that trading day.

 

Terms used in identifying a specific product. EEX German Power Future delivery March YYYY is used as the example product.

BasePeakType Used for power products to specify which load the contract represents. Base
CommodityType The type of commodity that the contract relates to. Power
ContractName The name of a contract within a market. Mar-YYYY
FrontCode Identifies the relative period of the contract. M3 
FrontSymbol A unique string that can be used to relatively identify a contract. The FrontSymbol is constructed by Montelby combining: SourceId + MarketCode + FrontCode EEX DEB M3
GenericPeriod Type of period that the contract represents Month (M)
MarketCode A code representing the market. DEB
MarketName The name of the market to which the contract belongs. German power
MontelSymbol A unique string that can be used to identify a contract. Constructed by Montel by combining: SourceId + MarketCode + specific period EEX DEB MAR-YYYY
SourceId A unique ID representing the exchange or broker where the contract is traded. EEX
SymbolKey A string that uniquely identifies a contract. Either TickeySymbol, FrontSymbol, or MontelSymbol can be used as SymbolKey Either EEX DEBM03YYYY, EEX DEB M3, or EEX DEB MAR-YYYY
TickerSymbol Unique string used to identify a contract. SourceId + unique symbol string constructed by the source EEX DEBM03YYYY
